WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Chestnut Ridge Middle School successfully hosted its annual Eighth-Grade Career Day on March 19, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the school’s commitment to college and career readiness.

The event provided a dynamic platform for students to explore diverse professional landscapes. This year, every eighth-grade student had the opportunity to personalize their experience by selecting three tailored presentations from a distinguished panel of 12 guest speakers. The day was defined by high levels of student engagement, with presenters noting the thoughtful and inquisitive nature of the questions asked by the eighth-grade students.

“Seeing our students connect their current academic work to real-world applications is the ultimate goal of Career Day,” CRMS Principal Theresa Pietrowski said. “The energy in the building today proves that our students are not just thinking about the future, they are preparing to lead it.”

Chestnut Ridge Middle School extends its deepest gratitude to the following professionals who volunteered their time and expertise to inspire the students:

  • Sarah Jones – Reiki Practitioner
  • Kenneth Jones – Amazon Management/Robotics
  • Catherine McKnight – Attorney
  • Holly Benner – Nurse
  • Jackie Feinbaum – Pediatric Occupational Therapist
  • Rob Scardino – Firefighter
  • Jonathan Chain – Program Manager/Engineer
  • Lauren O’Donnell – Human Resources Program Manager
  • Michael Stief – CPA
  • Lauren Moffitt – School Counselor
  • Michael Brandao – VP of Technology
  • Stacy Barilotti – Speech-Language Pathologist

The diverse range of industries, from robotics and law to holistic health and public safety, ensured that every student found a path that resonated with their unique interests.
